REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 66 1/2,
§11-102.
The present reference to a violation of this
title as being "unlawful" and constituting a
"misdemeanor" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of §27-101 of this article to the same
effect.
21-103. OBEDIENCE TO POLICE OFFICERS AND SUMMONSES.
(A) OBEDIENCE TO ORDERS REQUIRED.
A PERSON MAY NOT WILLFULLY DISOBEY ANY LAWFUL ORDER
OR DIRECTION OF ANY POLICE OFFICER.
(B) AUTHORITY TO SUMMON WITNESSES; OBEDIENCE
REQUIRED.
(1) A POLICE OFFICER MAY SUMMON WITNESSES TO
TESTIFY UNDER OATH ON ANY CHARGE BROUGHT UNDER THE
MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW.
(2) A PERSON MAY NOT WILLFULLY DISOBEY A
SUMMONS.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-103.
In subsections (a) and (b)(2) of this section,
the phrase "willfully disobey" is substituted
for the present, unnecessarily inconsistent
"willfully fail or refuse to comply with" and
"refuse to obey".
Also, in subsection (a), the present reference
to a police officer "invested by law with
authority to ... regulate traffic" is deleted
as unnecessary in light of the definition of
"police officer" in §11—147 of this article.
In subsection (b) of this section and
throughout this title, the short title
"Maryland Vehicle Law" is substituted for
"this article". See §11-206 of this article.
The only other changes are in style.
