Ch. 14
978
LAWS OF MARYLAND
(2)    GIVE HIS NAME, HIS ADDRESS, AND THE
REGISTRATION NUMBER OF THE VEHICLE HE IS DRIVING AND, ON
REQUEST, EXHIBIT HIS LICENSE TO DRIVE, IF IT IS
AVAILABLE, TO: (I)    ANY PERSON INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT; AND (II)   THE DRIVER, OCCUPANT OF, OR PERSON
ATTENDING ANY VEHICLE OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGED IN THE ACCIDENT; AND (3)    GIVE THE SAME INFORMATION AND, ON
REQUEST, EXHIBIT HIS LICENSE TO DRIVE, IF IT IS
AVAILABLE, TO ANY POLICE OFFICER WHO IS AT THE SCENE OF
OR OTHERWISE IS INVESTIGATING THE ACCIDENT. (B) IF NO ONE ABLE TO RECEIVE INFORMATION. IF A POLICE OFFICER IS NOT PRESENT AND NONE OF THE
SPECIFIED PERSONS IS IN CONDITION TO RECEIVE THE
INFORMATION TO WHICH THE PERSON OTHERWISE WOULD BE
ENTITLED UNDER THIS SECTION, THE DRIVER, AFTER
FULFILLING TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE EVERY OTHER
REQUIREMENT OF §20-102 OF THIS TITLE AND SUBSECTION (A)
OF THIS SECTION, IMMEDIATELY SHALL REPORT THE ACCIDENT
TO THE NEAREST OFFICE OF AN AUTHORIZED POLICE AUTHORITY
AND GIVE THE INFORMATION SPECIFIED IN SUBSECTION (A) OF
THIS SECTION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §10-104. In subsection (a) of this section, the broader
term "license to drive", which is defined in
§11—128 of this article, is substituted for
the more narrow "driver's license" (cf.,
§11—116 of this article). This is required
since the provisions of this section are
applicable, for example, to nonresident
drivers as well as residents. In subsection (a) (3) of this section, the
phrase "if it is available" is added for
clarity and to conform to the like phrase in
subsection (a) (2). This phrase is required
since the provisions of this section are
applicable, for example, to unlicensed drivers
as well as licensed drivers. Of course, this
language does not supersede any of the
licensing requirements of Title 16 of this
article, including §16-112, which requires
possession of a license while driving (see,
also, §16-402(a)(8)). The only other changes are in style. 20-105. DUTY ON STRIKING UNATTENDED VEHICLE OR OTHER
PROPERTY.
