TITLE 17. VEHICLE LAWS—REQUIRED SECURITY.
SUBTITLE 1. GENERAL SECURITY PROVISIONS.
17-101. "REQUIRED SECURITY" DEFINED.
IN THIS SUBTITLE, "REQUIRED SECURITY" MEANS SECURITY
IN THE FORM AND PROVIDING FOR THE MINIMUM BENEFITS
REQUIRED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE OR ANY OTHER PROVISIONS OF
THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added
for clarity and to avoid unnecessary
repetition in this subtitle of references to
both the required form and minimum benefits.
These are established generally by §17-103 of
this subtitle; as to "other provisions" of the
Maryland Vehicle Law, see, e.g., §13-932 as to
Class J (Van Pool) vehicles.
See, also, §1-101 and Title 11 of this article
for other applicable definitions.
17-102. EXEMPTIONS.
THIS SUBTITLE DOES NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING
VEHICLES AND THEIR DRIVERS:
(1) FARM EQUIPMENT OR SPECIAL MOBILE EQUIPMENT
INCIDENTALLY OPERATED ON A HIGHWAY OR ON OTHER PROPERTY
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC; OR
(2) A VEHICLE OPERATED ON A HIGHWAY ONLY TO CROSS
THE HIGHWAY FROM ONE PROPERTY TO ANOTHER.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §7-104.
In paragraph (1) of this section, the term
"farm equipment" is substituted for "implement
of husbandry". See §11—120 of this article.
The only other changes are in style.
17-103. FORM AND MINIMUM BENEFITS OF SECURITY.
