Ch. 14
910
LAWS OF MARYLAND
The only other changes are in style. 16-105.1. DRIVING BY DRIVER EDUCATION STUDENTS. ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO IS AT LEAST 15 YEARS OLD MAY
DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE ON HIGHWAYS IN THIS STATE, WITHOUT
OBTAINING A LEARNER'S PERMIT, IF; (1)     HE IS A STUDENT ENROLLED IN A DRIVER'S
EDUCATION COURSE APPROVED UNDER SUBTITLE 5 OF THIS TITLE; (2)   THE MOTOR VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DUAL BRAKE
CONTROL AND ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED BY RULES AND
REGULATIONS ADOPTED UNDER §16-506 OF THIS TITLE; AND (3)    WHILE DRIVING THE MOTOR VEHICLE, HE IS UNDER
THE CONTROL OF:
(I) A CLASSROOM OR LABORATORY INSTRUCTOR
CERTIFIED UNDER SUBTITLE 5 OF THIS TITLE; OR
(II) A QUALIFIED STUDENT INSTRUCTOR
PARTICIPATING IN AN INSTRUCTOR PREPARATION PROGRAM
SANCTIONED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OR THE
ADMINISTRATION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
the first paragraph of Art. 66 1/2, §6-105.1.
In item (3) of this section, the more specific
term "{certified} classroom or laboratory
instructor" is substituted for "qualified
driver training instructor", and a reference
to a program sanctioned by "the
Administration" is added, for clarity. These
changes are necessary to reflect adequately
the changes made in the State Driver Education
Program by Ch. 587, Acts of 1974.
The only other changes are in style. The second paragraph of present Art. 66 1/2,
§6-105.1, which authorizes the Administrator
to accept a "certificate" as proof of
knowledge of the traffic laws, is deleted as
obsolete. This authorization has not been
used at all since 1947, nor does the
Administration plan to use it at any time in
the foreseeable future. 16-106. APPLICATION FOR LICENSE?-IN GENERAL.
(A) FORM.
EACH APPLICATION FOR A DRIVER'S LICENSE SHALL BE
MADE ON THE FORM THAT THE ADMINISTRATION REQUIRES.
(B) CONTENTS.
