THE ADMINISTRATION FROM A LICENSED PHYSICIAN ATTESTING TO
THE GENERAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS OF THE
APPLICANT.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §6-103.
The present reference to persons who do not
meet the age requirements of this title is
deleted as redundant in light of the clear age
requirements specified elsewhere in this
subtitle. Also, the present reference to
persons failing to deposit required "proof of
financial responsibility" is deleted as
obsolete; Ch. 73, Acts of 1972 repealed the
former financial responsibility laws and
substituted new "required security" provisions
that are keyed to motor vehicle registration
rather than licensing (see, Title 17 of this
article).
In item (6) of this section, the present
reference to "ordinary" control of a motor
vehicle is deleted as unnecessary in light of
the broad reference to "reasonable control".
Item (9) of this section is revised to clarify
its application only to the issuance of "new
licenses" and not to renewals; cf., e.g.,
§16-207(a)(2) of this title. The phrase
"physical and mental qualifications" is
substituted for "physical or mental
qualifications"; since both are important,
independent functions of driving, the present
use here of the disjunctive would appear to
have been an inadvertent error (cf., e.g.,
§16—208(a) of this title, which authorizes
suspension of the license of any person "who
cannot drive safely because of his physical or
mental condition"). The phrase "acceptable to
the Administration" is added to conform to the
similar requirements of §16—103.2(a) (2) of
this subtitle.
The only other changes are in style.
As to item (6) of this section and restricted
licenses, generally, see §16-113 of this
subtitle.
16-103.2. SCHOOL VEHICLE DRIVERS.
(A) TYPE I SCHOOL VEHICLE (SCHOOL BUS).
