(D)    CONTINUED USE OF PLATES IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS;
VALIDATION TABS; SUBSTITUTE PLATES. (1)   DURING SUBSEQUENT REGISTRATION YEARS, THE
ADMINISTRATOR MAY ORDER THE CONTINUED USE OF
REGISTRATION PLATES THAT ARE VALID DURING ANY CURRENT
REGISTRATION YEAR, AND, AFTER SO DOING, THE ADMINISTRATOR
SHALL ISSUE, AT THE TIME A VEHICLE'S REGISTRATION IS
RENEWED, A VALIDATION TAB TO EVIDENCE PAYMENT OF THE
VEHICLE'S ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE. (2)   THE TAB SHALL BE DISPLAYED ON THE PLATES
OF THE VEHICLE IN THE MANNER THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR
REQUIRES. (3)   THE ADMINISTRATOR FROM TIME TO TIME SHALL
EVALUATE THE CONDITION OF REGISTRATION PLATES ISSUED
UNDER THIS TITLE AND MAY PROVIDE FOR THE MANUFACTURE AND
ISSUANCE OF NEW REGISTRATION PLATES. THESE NEW
REGISTRATION PLATES SHALL BE ISSUED AND SUBSEQUENTLY
VALIDATED IN THE MANNER REQUIRED BY THIS SUBTITLE. (E)   BICENTENNIAL REGISTRATION PLATES. ON APPLICATION, THE ADMINISTRATION MAY ISSUE
SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION PLATES OF A DESIGN TO COMMEMORATE
THE BICENTENNIAL. NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF
SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION, THESE BICENTENNIAL
REGISTRATION PLATES MAY BE REFLECTORIZED. (F)   RENTAL VEHICLES. FOR EVERY PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLE RENTED WITHOUT A
DRIVER, THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL ISSUE THE SAME TYPE OF
REGISTRATION PLATES AS THAT ISSUED FOR A PRIVATE
PASSENGER VEHICLE. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §3-410, and the last two
sentences of §3-412(a), and §3-415(c). In subsection (c) of this section, the
reference to a "processed material" is deleted
as unnecessary. In subsection (e) of this section, the present
references to forms "furnished by" the
Administration, the payment of the "prescribed
fee", and the power of the Administration to
adopt rules and regulations are deleted as
unnecessary in light of §§12-105, 13-949, and
12-104, respectively. The only other changes are in style. As to subsection (a)(2) of this section and
the issuance of temporary registration plates,
see Subtitle 6, Part I, of this title.
