AN ACT to repeal and reenact, with amendments. Sections
75-4 through 75-9 of Subtitle 75, "Taxes," of the
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County, as
enacted by Chapter 37 (CB—93-1975) of the Laws of
Prince George's County, 1975, and as amended by
Chapter 51 (CB-102-1975) of the Laws of Prince
George's County, 1975, all for the purpose of
imposing an obligation on the landlord to collect
the multi—family occupancy tax and pay over to
Prince George's County the money so collected from
the tenants; requiring the landlord to remit said
tax in a single check; providing for a credit to the
landlord for expenses incurred in collection and
remittance; assessing a civil penalty on the
landlord for willful refusal to collect or remit
said tax; to reduce the penalty for any tenant who
willfully refuses to remit the tax imposed by this
act; and to amend language in the existing law for
the purpose of clarification.

AN EMERGENCY BILL ENTITLED
AN EMERGENCY ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments
Section 1 of Council Bill 64-1975 (Chapter No. 31)
being an act to levy and impose a tax authorized by
Section 44—2 (a) of the Code of Public Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition), and being Article 17
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Prince George's County," Subtitle "Hotels and
Motels," as enacted by Chapter 738 of the Laws of
Maryland, 1971 Session, and Chapter 118 of the Laws
of Maryland, 1975 Session, to provide for the levy
and imposition of a tax of five percent (5%) on all
gross amounts paid to the owners or operators of
hotels and motels in Prince George's County,
pursuant to rules and regulations provided herein.
