MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
Resolution No. 76—3
Charter Amendment No. 76—1 RESOLUTION: To Provide for the Enlarging of the
Corporate Boundaries of the Town of Morningside to
include The Village Barn an area of three (3) acres more
or less, WHEREAS, heretofore by Resolution the Mayor and
Council of Morningside has proposed to enlarge the
corporate boundaries of the Town of Morningside so as to
include an area encompassing a tract of land known as The
Village Barn, which consists of approximately three (3)
acres of land; and WHEREAS, thereafter a public notice of said
Resolution was published not fewer than four times at not
less than weekly intervals in "The Enquirer—Gazette," a
newspaper of general circulation in the Town of
Morningside, and the area to be annexed, the said notice
specifying that a public hearing on said Resolution would
be held in the Morningside Town Hall at 8:00 P.M. on
February 12, 1976; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Morningside has
fully considered and deliberated the matters presented at
said public hearing and has determined that said
Resolution should be adopted; [Section 52—2D of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, added. Effective Date March 28, 1976]
Resolution No. 7 6-4 Charter Amendment No. 76—2 "Election Procedures" Resolution of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Morningside, Maryland, adopted pursuant to the authority
of Article 11—E of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, and Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, 1957 edition, as amended, entitled
"Corporations—Municipal," to amend the Charter of
Morningside, this amendment to be entitled, "Election
Procedures," and such amendment to modify the following
procedures: voting requirements, filing for candidacy,
registration, titles of council members, absentee
ballots, counting ballots, and posting requirements, and
such amendments to: a.         Change the voting requirements. b.          Provide candidates additional days to file
