(2) THE UNIFORM RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AND REAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION POLICIES ACT OF 1970; AND (2) (3) ANY RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER
ANY OF THESE ACTS. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second
sentence of Art, 89b, §76(1). In this section and §8-503(a) of this
subtitle, the present list of specific acts
(e.g., the "Federal-Aid Act" of 1916) has been
omitted as obsolete. Each of those acts have
been either repealed or effectively superseded
by subsequent federal legislation. Generally
speaking, the current federal law on federal
aid for highways is codified in Title 23 of
the United States Code. 8-502. LEGISLATIVE POLICY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SUBTITLE IS TO ASSIST THE
NATIONAL RECOVERY AND PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE BY
ENABLING THIS STATE AND ITS POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS TO
PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS FOR AND SECURE THE BENEFITS OF ANY
FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE UNDER THE FEDERAL ACTS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS AND
COUNTY ROADS AND FOR RELATED STATE OR LOCAL PROJECTS. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the last
sentence of Art. 89B, §76(3). 8-503. POWER OF ADMINISTRATION AND POLITICAL
SUBDIVISIONS TO COMPLY WITH FEDERAL ACTS. (A)   LEGISLATIVE ASSENT TO FEDERAL ACTS. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND ASSENTS TO THE
FEDERAL ACTS. (B)   POWERS IN GENERAL. THE ADMINISTRATION, FOR ITSELF OR FOR ANY POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE, AND EACH POLITICAL SUBDIVISION
OF THIS STATE MAY DO ANYTHING NECESSARY OR DESIRABLE TO
COMPLY WITH ANY TERM, CONDITION, OR PROVISION AND TO
OBTAIN THE BENEFITS OF ANY OF THE FEDERAL ACTS. (C)  SPECIFIC POWERS OF ADMINISTRATION. THE ADMINISTRATION MAY: (1) ACCEPT ANY FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE TO
THIS STATE UNDER THE FEDERAL ACTS, FOR THE USE OF THIS
STATE OR ANY OF ITS POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS:
