A House Joint Resolution concerning
Energy — Conversion to Coal
FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor to appoint a
task force to study the cost and feasibility of
converting oil and natural gas beating systems in
public buildings to system which employ coal to
generate heat for the buildings.
WHEREAS, The oil and natural gas resources of the
United States and the State of Maryland are extremely
limited; and
WHEREAS, The limited oil and natural gas resources
that do exist are being rapidly depleted; and
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland should take all
available measures in order to conserve these precious
energy resources; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Governor is requested to appoint a task force to
determine the cost and feasibility of converting oil and
natural gas heating systems in public buildings to
systems which employ coal to generate heat for the
buildings; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the task force report to the Governor
