WHEREAS, In the past, America has always made it a
policy to account for all its servicemen and casualties
who faithfully served their Country; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the 1977 Maryland General Assembly encourage the Federal
Government to exercise every possible means in continuing
its efforts to account for each and every one of these
MIA's who have so honorably served their Country; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
the Maryland Congressional Delegation: Senators Charles
McC. Mathias, Jr. and Paul S. Sarbanes, Senate Office
Building, Washington, D.C. 20510; and Representatives
Robert E. Bauman, Clarence D. Long, Barbara A. Mikulski,
Marjorie S. Holt, Gladys N. Spellman, Goodloe E. Byron,
Parren J. Mitchell, and Newton I. Steers, Jr., House
Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20515.

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Tax Relief — Aged or Disabled Parent
or Relative Home Care
FOR the purpose of directing the Comptroller and the
Office on Aging to study the question of providing
tax assistance to taxpayers who keep aged or
disabled parents or collateral relatives in their
homes and provide them with certain care and
equipment.
WHEREAS, The special needs and problems of the aged
and the disabled are of great concern to the members of
the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, Many taxpayers in this State keep aged or
disabled parents or collateral relatives in their homes
and provide them with nursing care, hospital beds, oxygen
tents, wheel chairs, and other convalescent and nursing
supplies; and
WHEREAS, These items are not presently deductible
