WHEREAS, This Bicentennial Patriots' Pledge has been
endorsed first by the Frederick County Bicentennial
Committee, Frederick County Commissioners, and the
Maryland Bicentennial Commission, has been made the
official State pledge of the State of Ohio, and has been
reprinted and circulated widely by individuals, churches,
patriotic and civic organizations, and has been displayed
in a number of United States Embassies throughout the
world; and
WHEREAS, The Bicentennial Patriots' Pledge states as
follows:
BICENTENNIAL PATRIOTS' PLEDGE
INSPIRED BY THE FOUNDING FATHERS, WE ALSO PLEDGE
"our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor" to the
end that all men everywhere find the dignity of
responsibility and the right to "life, liberty and the
pursuit of happiness".
