No. 15
(Senate Joint Resolution 31)
A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
Ice Damaged Piers, Docks, and Boathouses
FOR the purpose of declaring that owners and operators of
piers, docks, and boathouses which have been
destroyed or damaged by ice should be permitted to
repair or replace the pier, dock, or boathouse
without prior governmental permit or approval, and
without any additional assessment being levied.
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland is presently
experiencing the most severe weather conditions of the
century; and

form on the State's waterways in unprecedented amounts;

damaged numerous piers, docks, and boathouses in the
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
owners and operators of piers, docks, and boathouses be
permitted to repair or replace damaged piers, docks, and
boathouses without first obtaining any governmental
permit or governmental approval; and be it further
RESOLVED, That there be no additional assessment if
the destroyed or damaged pier, dock, or boathouse is
