SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary, allowances, and health insurance
coverage of the persons of the elected Sheriff specified
by this Act in office on the effective date of this Act,
but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary,
allowances, and health insurance coverage of the persons
of the elected Sheriff specified by this Act shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

CHAPTER 976
(House Bill 1823)
AN ACT concerning
St. Mary's County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Disorderly Intoxication)
FOR the purpose of permitting St. Mary's County to join
certain other counties who may adopt certain
ordinances or resolutions supplementing a certain
subheading; transferring certain provisions of the
law from Article 2C to Article 2B that concern being
intoxicated or consuming alcoholic beverages in
certain places with certain exceptions, and
including penalty provisions; adding certain
subtitles and subheadings; and clarifying language.
BY repealing
Article 2C — Alcoholism
Section 201 and 201A and the subtitle "Disorderly
Intoxication"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
BY adding to
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 207 through 214, inclusive, to be under the
new subtitle "Disorderly Intoxication"
