subject to the benefits and limitations of this
retirement plan; providing credit for service as a
Workmen's Compensation Commissioner; specifying the funding source; clarifying the definition of expenses of the Workmen's Compensation Commission to
include certain expenses; and relating generally to
the Judges' Retirement System with respect to
Workmen's Compensation Commissioners. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 73B - Pensions Section 1(3) and 55(a), (f), (m) Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) BY adding to Article 73B - Pensions Section 57(p) Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 101 — Workmen's Compensation Section 17(b)(3) Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 1(3) and 55(a), (f), (m) of
Article 73B - Pensions, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
Article 73B - Pensions
1.
The following words and phrases as used in this
article, unless a different meaning is plainly required
by the context, shall have the following meanings: (3) "Employee" shall mean any regular classified
or unclassified officer or employee of the State for whom
compensation is provided for by State appropriation, or
whose compensation is paid from State funds, including
all regular employees" of the State Highway
Administration, whether classified or unclassified and
whether paid on an annual, daily or hourly basis, and
shall expressly include those engaged in work on the
maintenance of county roads under the supervision of the
State Highway Administration. The term "employee" shall
include any appointed or elected employee of the State,
and any clerk of any court and register of wills, and
