SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 156A of Article 56 - Licenses, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume
and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 156A be and it is hereby added to Article 56 —
Licenses, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) to read as
follows:

(A) THE MARYLAND GASOLINE TAX AND FRAUD
ENFORCEMENT UNIT IS CREATED AS A UNIT WITHIN THE GASOLINE
TAX DIVISION OF THE COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE. THE
ENFORCEMENT UNIT HAS THE STAFF PROVIDED IN THE BUDGET.
(B) THE ENFORCEMENT UNIT SHALL ENFORCE:
(1) THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE;
(2) THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 56, SUBTITLE
"MOTOR FUEL INSPECTION LAW"; AND
(3) THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 231 TO 233,
INCLUSIVE, OF ARTICLE 27 OF THE CODE.
