AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt - Building of Prince
George's County Detention Center
FOR the purpose of repealing and reenacting, with
amendments Section 7 of Chapter 508 of the Acts of
the Regular Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1975, for the purpose of changing the
date on which Prince George's County shall have to
present satisfactory evidence to the Board of Public
Works that it has raised those funds necessary for
the purpose of assisting in the construction and
equipping of the Prince George's County Detention
Center.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 508 of the Acts of the Regular Session of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1975
Section 7
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7 of Chapter 508 of the Acts of
the Regular Session of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1975, be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Chapter 508
SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
payment of any funds under the provisions of this Act for
the purpose of assisting in construction, renovation,
improvement and equipping the existing Prince George's
County Detention Center, including the payment of
architects' and engineers' fees, shall be contingent upon
the provision by the County Council of Prince George's
County of at least an equal and matching fund for this
project from private and other sources. The said County
Council of Prince George's County shall have until June
1, [1977] 1973, to present evidence satisfactory to the
Board of Public Works that it has raised at least this
equal and matching fund for the purpose of assisting in
construction, renovation, improvement and equipping the
existing Prince George's County Detention Center,
including the payment of architects' and engineers' fees.
Upon receiving from the Board of Public Works a
certification of such suitable evidence on or before June
1, [1977] 1978, the Treasurer of the State is hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to proceed to spend
the proceeds of said loan in accordance with the other
provisions of this Act. If such satisfactory evidence of
the raising of at least an equal and matching fund for
this project is not presented to the Board of Public
Works on or before June 1, [1977] 1978, no funds under
the provisions of this Act shall thereafter be paid over
