AN ACT concerning
Cecil County - Assistant State's Attorney
State's Attorney's Office
FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's
Attorney and First Assistant State's Attorney of
Cecil County and providing for the applicability of
this Act.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys In Fact
Section 40(h) (1) and (2)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40(h) (1) and (2) of Article 10 -
Attorneys at Law and Attorneys In Fact, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

(h) In Cecil County,
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(1) The State's Attorney's salary is
[$18,500] $22,500 a year and he may serve part time. In
addition to the compensation provided for in this
section, the State's Attorney, for the operation of his
office and the performance of his duties, shall be
entitled to a reasonable expense allowance which shall be
subject to the approval of the Board of County
Commissioners.
(2) The State's Attorney may appoint four
assistant State's attorneys to serve part time at the
pleasure of the State's Attorney. The first assistant
State's attorney's salary is [$7,500] $12,000 a year and
TWO OF the remaining three assistant State's attorneys'
salary is $6,500 $10,000 a year each. THE THIRD SHALL
SERVE AS THE ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEY FOR THE DISTRICT
