LAWS OF MARYLAND
SATISFACTORY TO THE BOARD INDICATING THAT THE APPLICANT
MAY BE COMPETENT TO PRACTICE LAND SURVEYING, IF THE
EVIDENCE OF SUCH PRACTICE PRESENTED BY THE APPLICANT IS
SATISFACTORY TO THE BOARD, AND IF THE APPLICANT
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES AN EIGHT-HOUR WRITTEN EXAMINATION
IN THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF LAND SURVEYING. IF THE
EVIDENCE PRESENTED IN AND WITH THE APPLICATION DOES NOT
APPEAR TO THE BOARD TO WARRANT THE ADMISSION TO THE
EXAMINATION, THE APPLICANT MAY BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT
FURTHER EVIDENCE FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE BOARD. (C)    AS A LAND SURVEYOR-IN-TRAINING: (1)    GRADUATION FROM A SURVEYING OR
ENGINEERING CURRICULUM OF FOUR SCHOLASTIC YEARS OR MORE
APPROVED BY THE BOARD AND THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN
EIGHT-HOUR WRITTEN EXAMINATION IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF
SURVEYING; OR (2)    GRADUATION FROM A SURVEYING OR
ENGINEERING CURRICULUM OF FOUR SCHOLASTIC YEARS OR MORE
OR THEIR EQUIVALENT, OTHER THAN THE ONES APPROVED BY THE
BOARD, AND A SPECIFIC RECORD OF FOUR YEARS OR MORE OF
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE IN SURVEYING WORK OF A CHARACTER
SATISFACTORY TO THE BOARD, AND THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
OF AN EIGHT-HOUR WRITTEN EXAMINATION IN THE FUNDAMENTALS
OF SURVEYING. (D)    ANY PERSON MAY BE REGISTERED AS A PROPERTY
LINE SURVEYOR UPON COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING TWO
REQUIREMENTS: (1)    A SPECIFIC RECORD OF EIGHT YEARS
EXPERIENCE IN PROPERTY LINE SURVEYING OF A CHARACTER
SATISFACTORY TO THE BOARD INDICATING THAT THE APPLICANT
MAY BE COMPETENT TO PRACTICE PROPERTY LINE SURVEYING, IF
HE PRESENTS EVIDENCE OF SUCH EXPERIENCE SATISFACTORY TO
THE BOARD; AND (2)    SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A WRITTEN OR
ORAL EXAMINATION IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF PROPERTY LINE
SURVEYING AND THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF PROPERTY
LINE SURVEYING. (E)    A PERSON HOLDING A CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION
TO ENGAGE IN THE PRACTICE OF LAND SURVEYING ON THE BASIS
OF COMPARABLE QUALIFICATIONS, ISSUED TO HIM BY A PROPER
AUTHORITY OF A STATE, TERRITORY, OF POSSESSION OF THE
UNITED STATES, OR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, WHO, IN THE
OPINION OF THE BOARD, QUALIFIED UNDER REQUIREMENTS
EQUIVALENT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE, AS THEY
EXISTED AT THE TIME OF SUCH PRIOR REGISTRATION, BASED ON
VERIFIED EVIDENCE, UPON APPLICATION, MAY BE REGISTERED
WITHOUT TAKING THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION PROVIDED FOR IN
THIS SUBTITLE.
(F) A PERSON IS NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION
FOR REGISTRATION AS A PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR OR
