LAWS OF MARYLAND
acquired by surveying education and surveying experience,
is qualified to practice land surveying. (f)    The term "professional land surveyor," within
the meaning and intent of this article, shall mean a
person who has been duly registered and licensed under
the requirements of this article, (g)    The term "land surveyor-in-training," within
the meaning and intent of this article, shall mean a
person who complies with the requirements for education,
experience and character and has passed an examination in
the fundamental surveying subjects, as provided in §§ 12
and 14 of this article. (h) The term "practice of land surveying," within
the meaning and intent of this article, includes
surveying or areas for their correct determination and
description for conveyancing, for the establishment, or
the reestablishment of land boundaries and the plotting
of lands and subdivisions thereof. The plotting of
lands and subdivisions may include topography and
contours, the preparation of official plats or maps of
said land, setting grades and determining drainage of
streets and roads, and providing for storm drainage
systems where such systems do not require the hydraulic
design or structural design of system components and are
restricted to the use, where relevant, of any standards
as may be prescribed by local or State authorities. The
practice of land surveying shall not include geodetic
surveying, cartography or general real estate practices. A person shall be construed to practice or offer to
practice land surveying, within the meaning and intent of
this article, who engages in land surveying or who by
verbal claim, sign, letterhead, advertisement, card or in
any other way represents himself to be a land surveyor or
that he is registered under this article, or who
represents himself as able or willing to perform those
services which are commonly recognized as land
surveying.] [(i)] (F) [The term "Board," within the meaning and
intent of this article, shall mean] "BOARD" MEANS the
State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
[and Professional Land Surveyors, provided for by this
article]. [(j) The term "property line surveyor," within the
meaning and intent of this article, shall mean a person
who, by reason of his special knowledge and the use of
the principles and methods of surveying, acquired by
surveying experience, is qualified to practice property
line surveying and who is registered and licensed under
the requirements of this article.
(k) The term "practice of property line surveying"
within the meaning and intent of this article, involves
