[c] (3) [The] FROM AND AFTER JULY 1, 1975, THE
provisions of [subsection b] ITEM (2) of this section
shall apply to related institutions, [as that term is
defined in § 556 of this article, from and after July 1,
1975] WHICH, IN THIS SUBTITLE, INCLUDE ONLY INSTITUTIONS
IN EXCESS OF 30 BEDS THAT ARE LICENSED AS NURSING HOMES -
EXTENDED CARE, INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES - LONG TERM
CARE (TYPE A), OR INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES - PERSONAL
CARE (TYPE B) OR INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES - MENTAL
RETARDATION OR AS THESE FACILITIES ARE CLASSIFIED FROM
TIME TO TIME BY LAW OR REGULATION.

The Governor [of the State of Maryland] shall create
the Health Services Cost Review Commission, an
independent commission functioning within the Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene, the jurisdiction and powers
of which shall extend to [all] hospitals[, health care]
and related institutions [as defined in Section 556 of
this article], whether they [be] ARE operated as profit
making or nonprofit making institutions. This law shall
not be construed to include any hospital or related
institution operated, or listed and certified by the
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts.

(d) The provisions of this section shall apply to
related institutions[, as that term is defined in §
556(d) of this article], from and after July 1, 1975.

all related institutions[, as that term is defined in §
556(d) of this article], from and after July 1, 1975.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
