the department [with each dredging license] FO EACH
DREDGE BOAT, to the shrouds of the foremast on the port
and starboard sides of the boat, with the bottom or lower
edge of the number not less than 4 feet above the deck.
The numbers shall be displayed in an upright position to
provide maximum visibility at all times during the
dredging season, and may not be concealed or defaced.
Each number shall be painted in clack figures on white
durable material 2 feet by 2 feet in size. The material
shall be selected by the department. The numbers on the
material may not be less than 16 inches in height and a
proportionate width. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
4-1014 of Article - Natural Resources, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and
it is hereby repealed: Article - Natural Resources [4-1014. A licensed dredge boat owner may sell and convey by
bill of sale for bona fide consideration the boat to any
person who has been a resident of this State for at least
one year, and transfer the license to the same person who
has been a resident of the State for at least one year.
The purchaser and the seller shall certify on the
application to transfer a dredge boat license that the
statements made by him in the application are true. The
purchaser shall pay the Department a $5 transfer fee for
the dredging license, and the Department shall certify on
the license that the fee is paid. Upon completing these
procedures, the purchaser is entitled to the same
privileges to catch oysters as the original owner had
before the transfer.]
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977. Approved May 26, 1977.
