AN ACT concerning
Real and Property Tax Exemption - Izaak Walton League
FOR the purpose of excepting certain real and personal
property owned by the Izaak Walton League under
certain conditions, from State, county, and city
ordinary taxation. changing the conditions
concerning an exemption from State, county, and city
ordinary taxation on real and personal property
owned by the Izaak Walton League.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 81 — Revenue and Taxes

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 9 (1-2) of Article 81 - Revenue and
Taxes, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes
9.
(1-2) Real and personal property which is owned by
the Izaak Walton league and is used solely for
maintenance of natural areas for public use, for
sanctuaries, or [or] for wildlife, [provided that, by
agreement, the property shall become the property of the
State or any of its subdivisions upon release by the
league] OR GENERALLY FOR PROMOTING CONSERVATION, PROVIDED
THAT, UPON ANY TRANSFER OF TITLE OR INTEREST BY THE IZAAK
WALTON LEAGUE, THE TRANSFERRED PROPERTY SHALL BE USED FOR
THE ABOVE PURPOSES. CONSERVATION OR OPEN SPACE PURPOSES
ONLY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
