CHAPTER 632
(Senate Bill 228)
AN ACT concerning
Health - Life Saving Procedure
FOR the purpose of requiring the Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene to implement for restaurant operators
a program, for the posting and maintenance of a
chart in every restaurant concerning the Heimlich
maneuver management of obstructed airways, for
removing food lodged in the threat of an individual;
and providing for the liability for the use of this
maneuver.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 199A be and it is hereby added
to Article 43 - Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) to read as
follows:

199A.
(A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE
THE MEANINGS INDICATED.
(2) "RESTAURANT OPERATOR" MEANS THE PERMIT
HOLDER FOR A RESTAURANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON HAVING
OVERALL SUPERVISORY OR MANAGEMENT FUNCTION FOR A
RESTAURANT AT ANY TIME.
