51.
(u) The SALARY OF THE county treasurer of Cecil
County [shall receive a salary of $9,600.00] IS $21,000.
THE TREASURER MAY NOT RECEIVE ANY OTHER INCOME FOR
PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF HIS OFFICE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
9-13(f) of the Public Local Laws of Cecil County being
Article 8 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1970
Edition and 1975 Supplement, as amended) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 8
9-13.
(f) The [said] treasurer [shall be] IS NOT
entitled to [a] ANY commission [of three per centum] on
the amount of [all] sales made by him in pursuance of the
provisions of this section [to be computed and charged as
part of the expense of such sale; and he shall also be
entitled to charge and receive a like commission on all
taxes, interest and costs paid after the first day of
April in each and every year, and before the day of
sale].

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the persons specified by this
Act in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary of the
persons specified by this Act shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
prohibition on the receipt of commissions by the
Treasurer is not effective until the beginning of the
next following term of office of the Treasurer and does
not apply to the current term of the Treasurer.

|
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
