(c)    The second precinct shall be the territory of
said district, as now laid out and established on the
west side of said summit of Backbone Mountain, and on the
west of the Mountain from the lines of election districts
to the State Line, then southerly with the State Line to
the Potomac River, and thence down said Potomac River to
the mouth of Laurel Sun below the town of Dobbin, then up
said Laurel Run and the north prong of said run to its
source, thence by a due north line to the summit of the
Backbone Mountain and with the summit of said mountain to
the line of election district number seven. (d)    The voting or polling place for the said first
precinct shall be at the Hoye place, the former polling
place for said district, and the voting or polling place
for the second precinct shall be at the Red House.] [12-19. The voters, now residing in the first precinct of
said eighth election district, shall obtain a transfer
from the first to the second precinct in manner and form
as now provided by law.] [13-1. The Board of Supervisors of Election of Garrett
County, their clerk and attorney, shall be paid the
salaries provided for in Article 33 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland only in those years in which
county or general elections are held.] [13-2. The Judges of Election, whether acting as or sitting
as officers of election, and/or Clerk in Garrett County
shall be allowed and paid five dollars a day, such day to
be the time from the opening of the polls and/or
registration polls until the closing of the same;
fractions of a day shall be allowed for pro rata, and
over time on registration and election days shall be
allowed for at the rate of fifty cents per hour, bur no
person shall be allowed for such overtime (1) more than
$1.50, if one hundred votes or less were case at such
polling place, or (2) more than $1.50 plus $.50 for each
additional fifty votes in excess of one hundred, if such
votes exceed one hundred. In all other respects Section
126 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title "Elections", sub—title "Compensation", shall remain
in full force and effect in Garrett County.]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977. Approved May 17, 1977.
