LAWS OF MARYLAND
private sewers and drains, private sewage disposal,
installation and connection of building sewers and
the discharge of waters and wastes into public
sewers; and making this Act an emergency measure.
BY adding to
The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County
Section 27A Article 19 — Public local Laws of Maryland
(1965 Edition and 1974 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 27A be and it is hereby added
to the Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County being
Article 19 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1965
Edition and 1974 Supplement, as amended) to read as
follows:
Article 19
27A.
(A) IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH CERTAIN REGULATIONS OF
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY CONTAINED IN TITLE
40, CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MAY ENACT A SEWER USE ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE USE OF
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SEWERS AND DRAINS, PRIVATE SEWAGE
DISPOSAL, INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION OF BUILDING SEWERS
AND THE DISCHARGE OF WATERS AND WASTES INTO PUBLIC
SEWERS.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
