MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                            2289 submitted by the medical and chirurgical faculty of
Maryland. THREE TWO MEMBERS OF THE ADVISORY BOARD SHALL
BE APPOINTED FROM A LIST SUBMITTED BY THE MARYLAND
NURSES' ASSOCIATION. One member of [said] THE advisory
board shall be appointed from a list of names submitted
by the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association. Four (4)
members of [said] THE advisory board shall be appointed
from a list of names submitted by the Hospital Council of
Maryland, Inc., of which two (2) shall be administrators
of Maryland hospitals, one (1) shall be a trustee of a
Maryland hospital and at least one (1) of whom shall be a
member of the medical and chirurgical faculty of Maryland
engaged in the private practice of medicine. One (1)
member of the advisory board shall be a person who has
been an owner or administrator of a licensed nursing home
within the State of Maryland for a period of not less
than three years immediately prior to the date of
appointment and one who shall be appointed from a list of
names submitted by the Maryland Nursing Home Association,
Inc. [The members of the said advisory board who are in
office on June 1, 1965 shall continue for the balance of
the terms for which they were respectively appointed.]
All members of [said] THE advisory board shall be
citizens and residents of the State of Maryland for a
period of at least one year immediately prior to
appointment; at least two (2) shall be residents of the
City of Baltimore; at least two (2) shall be residents of
the counties; and all members shall serve without
compensation. Members shall be reimbursed for expenses
incurred while actually engaged in the performance of
their duties in accordance with the standard travel
regulations. Meetings of [said] THE advisory board may
be called by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene
or by any three members of the advisory board on proper
notice.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
