CHAPTER 418
(House Bill 377)
AN ACT concerning
Gambling — Investment of Seized Money
FOR the purpose of providing that money, currency, or
cash seized in connection with certain arrests for
gambling operations may be invested in accordance
with the terms of Article 95 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
Section 264(b)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 264(b) of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
264.
(b) Pending trial or ultimate disposition of the
charge or charges, indictment or indictments, growing out
of any arrest in connection with which any such money,
currency or cash may have been so seized or captured, the
same shall be deposited in an interest-bearing bank
account OR INVESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 95 and
accounted for by the county treasurer of the county or
the director of finance in Baltimore City.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
