LAWS OF MARYLAND
LOCAL LICENSE OR PAY A LOCAL FEE FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF
ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF A COLLECTION AGENCY. HOWEVER, THIS SUBSECTION DOES NOT PROHIBIT ANY LOCAL CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION FROM ENFORCING LOCAL LAW IN ANY OTHER RESPECT. (F) NOTHING IN THIS SUBTITLE SHALL PROHIBIT ANY STATE OR LOCAL CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION FROM ENFORCING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 14-202 OF THE COMMERCIAL LAW ARTICLE OR LOCAL LAW. HOWEVER: (1) IF THE BOARD INITIATES AN ACTION UNDER THIS SUBTITLE AGAINST A LICENSEE, OR (2) IF A STATE OR LOCAL CONSUMER PROTECTION
DIVISION INITIATES AN ACTION UNDER 14-202 OF THE
COMMERCIAL LAW ARTICLE OR UNDER LOCAL LAW; THEN NO OTHER STATE OR LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY
MAY INITIATE AN ACTION AGAINST THE LICENSEE FOR THE
SPECIFIC VIOLATION OR COMPLAINT ACTED UPON BY THAT BODY. 328 329. REVOCATION, SUSPENSION, OR SURRENDER OF
LICENSE. (A)    THE COMMISSIONER BOARD, AFTER COMPLIANCE WITH
THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE ACT, MAY SUSPEND OR REVOKE
ANY LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE IF: (1) THE LISENSEE LICENSEE, KNOWINGLY OR
WIHHOUT WITHOUT THE EXERCISE OF DUE CARE TO PREVENT
VIOLATION, HAS VIOLATED ANY PROVISION OF SECTION 14-202
OF THE COMMERCIAL LAW ARTICLE, OR HAS FAILED TO COMPLY
WITH ANY DEMAND, OR REQUIREMENT, LAWFULLY MADE BY THE
COMMISSIONER BOARD UNDER THIS SUBTITLE; OR (2) ANY MATERIAL MISREPRESENTATION HAS BEEN
MADE IN THE APPLICATION FOR THE LICENSE. (B)    IF THE COMMISSIONER BOARD FINDS THAT GROUNDS
FOR REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION ARE OF GENERAL APPLICATION
TO MORE THAN ONE PLACE OF BUSINESS OPERATED BY THE
LICENSEE, HE THE BOARD MAY REVOKE OR SUSPEND ALL OF THE
LICENSES ISSUED TO THE LICENSEE, OR ONLY THOSE LICENSES
TO WHICH THE GROUNDS FOR REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION APPLY.
OTHERWISE, THE COMMISSIONER BOARD SHALL SUSPEND OR REVOKE
ONLY THE PARTICULAR LICENSE WITH RESPECT TO WHICH
GROUNDS FOR REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION MAY OCCUR OR EXIST. (C)    ANY LICENSEE MAY SURRENDER ANY LICENSE BY
DELIVERING TO THE COMMISSIONER BOARD WRITTEN NOTICE THAT
THE LICENSE IS SURRENDERED, BUT SURRENDER OF THE LICENSE
DOES NOT AFFECT THE LICENSEE'S CIVIL OR CRIMINAL
LIABILITY FOR ACTS COMMITTED PRIOR TO THE SURRENDER OF
THE LICENSE. (D) A SUSPENSION, REVOCATION, OR SURRENDER OF ANY
LICENSE DOES NOT IMPAIR OR AFFECT THE OBLIGATION OF ANY
