rape or sexual offense in any degree concerning
transporting a victim to certain approved hospital
facilities; giving this Act a prospective effect;
providing for the prosecution of persons committing
certain crimes redefined by this Act when those
crimes have been committed prior to their
redefinition; and generally relating to rape and
sexual offenses. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 21 — Crimes and Punishments Section 12, 35A(b), 372, 410, 433, 463, 464C, 616 1/2(c) , and 643B(a)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 43 - Health Section 31C Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 12, 35A(b), 372, 410, 433, 463,
464C, 616 1/2(c), and 643B(a) of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows: Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments 12. Every person convicted of the crime of an assault
with intent to [have carnal knowledge of a female child
under the age of 14 years,] COMMIT VAGINAL INTERCOURSE
WITH A PERSON WHO IS UNDER 14 YEARS OF AGE IN VIOLATION
OF §462(A)(2) OF THIS ARTICLE, or with intent to rob, is
guilty of a felony and shall be sentenced to imprisonment
for not less than two years or more than ten years.
Every person convicted of the crime of an assault with
intent to murder is guilty of a felony and shall be
sentenced to imprisonment for not less than two years nor
more than 30 years. Every person convicted of the crime
of an assault with intent to commit a rape IN ANY DEGREE
is guilty of a felony and shall be sentenced to
imprisonment for not less than two years nor more than
[20] 15 years. [Nothing in this section may be construed
or held to affect or control any violation of this
section occurring prior to July 1, 1975, or the
prosecution of any violation of this type, tut each
violation and prosecution shall be governed by the
provisions of the section as it read and was in effect at
