(Senate Bill 1013)
AN ACT concerning
Kent County — Salary of County Treasurer
FOR the purpose of altering the annual salary of the
county treasurer of Kent County; and providing that
the alteration shall not affect the incumbent.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 25 — County Commissioners
Section 51(t)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 51(t) of Article 25 - County
Commissioners, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 25 — County Commissioners
51.
(t) The county treasurer of Kent County shall
receive an annual salary of [$9,000] $12,000 $15,000.;
AND THIS SHALL BE THE SOLE COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES
PERFORMED BY HIM OF ANY CHARACTER WHATEVER, INCLUDING HIS
CAPACITY AS A TAX COLLECTOR AND ISSUANCE OF LICENSES.
ANY FEES, COMMISSIONS OR OTHER COMPENSATION PAID TO THE
COUNTY TREASURER PURSUANT TO ANY OTHER LAWS OF KENT
COUNTY OR THE STATE OF MARYLAND SHALL BE ACCOUNTED FOR BY
THE COUNTY TREASURER AND PAID INTO THE GENERAL FUNDS OF
KENT COUNTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the persons specified by this
Act in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary of the
persons specified by this Act shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
