(ix) School board district IX [shall
consist] CONSISTS of election districts 4, 5, 8, 9, and
11 in their entirety and precincts 2, 1 [and 13], 13 AND
18 of election district 6.
Redistricting shall occur every ten years beginning
in 1981 based on the latest U.S. census data. The
districts shall be divided into three groups: Group I
[shall consist] CONSISTS of districts 1, 4, and 7; [and]
group II [shall consist] CONSISTS of districts 2, 5, and
8; group III (shall consist] CONSISTS of districts 3, 6
and 9. [the offices held by the incumbent members of the
board originally appointed by the Governor, including the
two members whose terms expire on June 30, 1973, shall
continue until December 3, 1973, at which time they are
abolished.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 253A of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
