Section 22-228(d)(3) and 24-111(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 22-228(d)(3) and 24-111 (a) of
Article — Transportation, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (As enacted by Chapter____of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1977) be and they are hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows;
Article — Transportation
22-228.
(d) (3) Where a loading zone is available, a school
[bus] VEHICLE driver, unless otherwise required for
safety, may not stop on the roadway for the purpose of
receiving or discharging passengers, but shall use the
loading zone for this purpose.
24-111.
(a) In this section AND IN § 24-111.1 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, "police officer" means:
(1) Any uniformed police officer; and
(2) Any civilian employee of the Maryland
State Police assigned to enforce this subtitle, but only
while acting under written authorization of the
Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
