AN ACT concerning
Election Code — Questions
FOR the purpose of requiring the Secretary of State to
prescribe the form to be used to list the
contributions and expenditures of a person or group
which files a referendum petition; and correcting
language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 - Election Code
Section 23-6(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 23-6(a) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement
Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 33 — Election Code
2 3-6.
(a) At the time of filing with the Secretary of
State a petition (including an associated or related set
of petitions) under the provisions of Article 16 of the
Constitution, the person, persons, or associations which
files the petition shall file with it, ON A FORM
PRESCRIBED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE, a statement showing
the contributions and expenditures for the petition.
This shall be certified by the person, persons, or
association which files the petition, giving (1) the name
and post—office address of every contributor to the
expense of the petition, and the amount paid by each; and
(2) the name and post—office address of every person to
whom, for what service, any money was paid or promised on
account of the petition or which is [owed] to be paid.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
