(c) In determining that a substances comes within
this schedule, the Department shall find:
1. A potential for abuse less than the
substances listed in Schedules I and II; and
2. Well documented and approved medical use
in the United States; and
3. Abuse may lead to moderate or low
physical dependence or high psychological dependence.
The following are classes of controlled dangerous
substances and are included in this schedule:
b. Unless listed in another schedule, any
material, compound, mixture, or preparation which
contains any quantity of the following substances having
a potential for abuse associated with a depressant effect
on the central nervous system:
6A. Pentazocine LACTATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 8-106 (a-8) of Article - Courts
and Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
