(House Bill 735)
AN ACT concerning
Montgomery County - Deputy Sheriffs
MC 106-77
FOR the purpose of providing that the allowance to
Montgomery County Deputy Sheriffs for expenses when
their assignment requires the use of a motor vehicle
for duty purposes shall be as set forth in the
County budget; and allowing use of publicly owned
vehicles as an alternative to reimbursement.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 2-309(q) of Article - Courts and
Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby
repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

2-309.
(q) (1) The Sheriff of Montgomery County shall
receive a salary of $25,000 per year, and the allowance
for expenses the County Council provides in its annual
budget. The County Council shall provide an automobile
for the use of the Sheriff and his deputies for the
general public work of the office and the expense of
operating the automobile shall be paid by the county.
