High Blood Pressure Commission
FOR the purpose of making certain technical corrections
in the law relating to the High Blood Pressure
Commission.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 43 - Health
Section 884(b) and (e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 884(b) and (e) of Article 43 -
Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 43 - Health
884.
(b) The Commission on High Blood Pressure,
hereinafter referred to as the Commission, shall be
composed of 14 members. The members shall be appointed
by the Governor, six at his discretion and eight from
nominations as provided below. Each member shall serve a
term of four years and until his successor is appointed
and qualified, except that in the initial appointments
three members shall serve for one year, three for two
years, [three] FOUR for three years, and [three] FOUR for
four years and 71until until their successors are
appointed and qualified. A member may not be appointed
to more than two consecutive four-year terms. The
members shall serve without compensation but shall be
reimbursed, in accordance with the standard travel
regulations, for expenses incurred in carrying out their
