SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 5B(b)(4) of Article 16 - Chancery,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement
Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 16 — Chancery
5B.
(b) (4) For purposes of this subsection,
arrearages in payment shall be computed on the basis of
the payments owed and unpaid or: the date that, pursuant
to law, the defaulting party has been given notice of the
application for the earnings lien, and subsequent payment
of the arrearages by the defaulting party does not
prohibit the court [form] FROM ordering a lien on the
[earings] EARNINGS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
