Parks — Lost Property
FOR the purpose of providing for the disposition of
property lost or abandoned within State parks.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 5-213 he and it is hereby
added to Article — Natural Resources, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976 Supplement) to
read as follows:
Article — Natural Resources
5-213.
EACH ITEM OF PROPERTY LOST OR ABANDONED BY PARK
USERS WITHIN A STATE PARK BE DOCUMENTED AND PLACED
IN A DESIGNATED AREA UNTIL CLAIMED BY ITS OWNER. AN ITEM
LOST OR ABANDONED WITHIN A STATE PARK AND UNCLAIMED FOR
ONE YEAR BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF THE STATE, AND THE
SECRETARY MAY DISPOSE OF THE ITEM IN THE BEST INTEREST OF
THE STATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
