Ch. 14
LAWS OF MARYLAND
1246
YEARS OR BOTH. REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived without substantive change from Art;
66 1/2, §17-101(b)(i). See, also, revisor's note to subsection (c) of
this section. (H) OTHER SPECIFIC PENALTIES TO PREVAIL. IF A DIFFERENT PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY
PROVISION OF THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW IS PROVIDED FOR IN
THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW OR IN ANY OTHER LAW OF THIS
STATE, THE SPECIFIC PENALTY PREVAILS OVER THE PENALTY
PROVIDED FOR IN THIS SECTION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §17-101(b)(iv). The short title "Maryland Vehicle Law" is substituted without substantive effect for present references to "this article".         See
§11-206 of this article. The only other changes are in style. 27-102.         VIOLATION OF LICENSE RESTRICTION OR RULE OR REGULATION A MISDEMEANOR. ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES A RESTRICTION IMPOSED ON ANY
LICENSE UNDER THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW OR WHO VIOLATES
ANY RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER ANY PROVISION OF THE
MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND, IN
ADDITION TO ANY ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY PROVIDED FOR IN
THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW, IS SUBJECT TO THE PENALTIES
PROVIDED FOR IN §27-101(B) OF THIS SUBTITLE OR, IF
GREATER, TO THE SAME PENALTIES AS ARE PROVIDED FOR A
VIOLATION OF THE STATUTE FOR OR UNDER WHICH THE
RESTRICTION IS IMPOSED OR THE RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
from Art. 66 1/2, §17-101.1. The present reference to a violation of a rule
or regulation "of the {Administration}" is
deleted as misleading and erroneous. Several
of the rules and regulations adopted under the
Maryland Vehicle Law are by entities other
than the Motor Vehicle Administration. See,
e.g., Title 21, Subtitle 14, which provides
for regulations by the Maryland Transportation
Authority; Title 23, which provides for
regulations by the State Police; and Title 24
and 25, which provide for regulations by the
State Highway Administration.
27-103. NONPAYMENT OF FINE.
