In any event, pending review of these Subtitles by
the General Assembly, the Commission has made but the
most minor of changes in them, revising only as required
to correct grammatical errors and nomenclature and to
conform basic elements of style necessary for consistency
and improved clarity.
Present Art. 66 1/2, §12-103, which relates to the
effect of the prior revision of Art. 66 1/2 by Ch. 534,
Acts of 1970, is deleted as obsolete.

TITLE 23. VEHICLE LAWS—INSPECTION OF USED VEHICLES AND
WARNINGS FOR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT.
23-101. DEFINITIONS.
(A) IN GENERAL.
IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

derived without substantive change from the
introductory language of Art. 66 1/2, §13—101.

(B) DIVISION.
"DIVISION" MEANS THE AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY ENFORCEMENT
DIVISION OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to avoid unnecessary repetition in this
title of the full name of the Division.
Present Art. 66 1/2, §13-101(7) - which
defines "Division" as meaning the unit
"designated by the Superintendent of State
Police to administer" this title — is deleted
as unnecessary and as inconsistent with
present Art. 66 1/2, §13-102(a), now
§23—102(a) of this title, which was enacted
more recently as part of Ch. 534, Acts of
1970, to establish the Automotive Safety
Enforcement Division to enforce the provisions
of this title.
(C) EQUIPMENT.
