between Baltimore and Kent Counties and a
possible Southern Bay crossing between Calvert
and Dorchester Counties, if financed by
revenue bonds of prior issues.
4-207. EXEMPTION OF AUTHORITY FROM TAXATION.
EXCEPT FOR WATER AND SEMES CHARGES IMPOSED BY THIS
STATE OR AMY OF ITS AGENCIES OR POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS,
THE AUTHORITY IS , ITS ACTIVITIES, AND THE PROPERTY IT
OWNS OR CONTROLS ARE EXEMPT FROM ALL ORDINARY AND SPECIAL
TAXES, ASSESSMENTS, AND CHARGES, WHETHER FEDERAL, STATE,
OR LOCAL, NOW OR SUBSEQUENTLY LEVIED OR IMPOSED, AND FROM
ALL ASSESSMENTS OR OTHER GOVERNMENTAL CHARGES.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
the last clause of the first sentence of Art.
94A, §23.
The only changes are in style.
The balance of present §23 appears in §§ 4—102
and 4-318 of this title.
As regards this section, a comparison might be
helpful with the like provisions of §7—704 of
this article. Although the two provisions
appear to seek the same result, there are
certain differences in language and scope that
night be conformed. For example, this section
refers expressly to exemption from "federal"
taxes, while §7-704 does not. If the reference
is of any effect in the former, should it not
be included also in the latter?
4-208. TOLL FACILITIES POLICE FORCE.
(A) FORCE ESTABLISHED.
THERE IS A TOLL FACILITIES POLICE FORCE IN THE
AUTHORITY.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to clarify the existence of the Police
Force and its status as part of the Authority.
Throughout this section, the term "Toll
Facilities Police Officer" is substituted for
"member of the ... police force"; this is done
for greater simplicity, and conforms to the
similar references in NR §§ 1—201 et seq. to a
"natural resources police officer."
(B) POWERS.
(1) A TOLL FACILITIES POLICE OFFICER HAS ALL
THE POWERS GRANTED TO A PEACE OFFICER AND A POLICE
OFFICER OF THIS STATE.
