protect all toll facilities that could be
seriously damaged by transportation of
dangerous substances. This section also has been broadened by prohibiting transportation by any "person", rather than merely transportation by
"vehicle". The penalties presently contained in Art. 89B,
§120C are transferred to Title 27 of this
article. See §27-101 of this article. The only other changes are in style. Consideration might be given to including
nuclear wastes among the listed prohibited
dangerous substances. For federal regulations governing the
transportation of explosives, radioactive
materials, and other dangerous substances, see
U.S.C. Title 18, §832. 21-1412. SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR TUNNELS. (A)   CROSSING TRAFFIC LANES PROHIBITED. EXCEPT AT THE DIRECTION OF AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL,
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC MAY NOT CROSS THE DOUBLE WHITE LINES
THAT DESIGNATE THE VEHICULAR TRAFFIC LANES IN A TUNNEL. (B)    TRUCKS AND SLOW MOVING VEHICLES TO STAY IN RIGHT LANE. EXCEPT AT THE DIRECTION OF AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL,
TRUCKS AND SLOW MOVING VEHICLES MAY BE DRIVEN ONLY IN
THE RIGHT LANE OF A TUNNEL. (C)     SOUNDING HORNS OR FLASHING HEADLIGHTS
PROHIBITED. THE DRIVER OF A VEHICLE MAY NOT SOUND HIS HORN OR
FLASH HIS HEADLIGHTS IN A TUNNEL. (D)   MUFFLER CUTOUTS PROHIBITED. WHILE IN A TUNNEL, A PERSON MAY NOT USE ANY CUTOUT
OR OTHER DEVICE THAT ALLOWS EXHAUST GASES TO ESCAPE A
MOTOR WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH A MUFFLER OR SILENCER. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §§ 11-1407, 11-1408, and 11-1409. The only changes are in style. TITLE 22. VEHICLE LAWS—-EQUIPMENT OF VEHICLES.
