LAWS OF MARYLAND
IF PRACTICABLE, A PEDESTRIAN SHALL WALK ON THE
RIGHT HALF OF A CROSSWALK. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-505. The only changes are in style. 21-506. PEDESTRIANS ON ROADWAYS. (A)   WHERE SIDEWALKS PROVIDED. WHERE A SIDEWALK IS PROVIDED, A PEDESTRIAN MAY NOT
WALK ALONG AND ON AN ADJACENT ROADWAY. (B)   WHERE SIDEWALKS NOT PROVIDED. WHERE A SIDEWALK IS NOT PROVIDED, A PEDESTRIAN WHO
WALKS ALONG AND ON A HIGHWAY MAY WALK ONLY ON THE LEFT
SHOULDER, IF PRACTICABLE, OR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE
ROADWAY, AS NEAR AS PRACTICABLE TO THE EDGE OF THE
ROADWAY, FACING ANY TRAFFIC THAT MIGHT APPROACH FROM
THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-506. In subsection (a) of this section, as
elsewhere in this article, the phrase "may
not" is substituted for "shall be unlawful" to
conform to the standard usage in revised
articles of the Code. No change in meaning or
effect is intended. The only other changes are in style. 21-507. CERTAIN ACTIVITIES BY PEDESTRIANS PROHIBITED. (A) SOLICITING RIDES, EMPLOYMENT, OR BUSINESS. EXCEPT FOR THE OCCUPANT OF A DISABLED VEHICLE WHO SEEKS THE AID OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, A PERSON MAY NOT STAND IN A ROADWAY TO SOLICIT A RIDE, EMPLOYMENT, OR
BUSINESS FROM THE OCCUPANT OF ANY VEHICLE. (3) SOLICITING PERSONS TO WATCH OR GUARD VEHICLE. A PERSON MAY NOT STAND ON OR NEAR A HIGHWAY TO
SOLICIT ANY OTHER PERSON TO WATCH OR GUARD ANY VEHICLE
WHILE IT IS PARKED OR ABOUT TO BE PARKED ON A HIGHWAY. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-507. The only changes are in style.
21-508. DRIVING THROUGH SAFETY ZONE PROHIBITED.
