AN ACT concerning
Garrett County — Alcoholic Beverages
(Liquor Dispensaries)
FOR the purpose of [[permitting the establishment of
liquor dispensaries in certain districts at one or
more locations determined by the liquor control
board;]] permitting all liquor and wine sold by
certain licensees to be purchased from either a
liquor dispensary or any licensed wholesale
supplier; permitting a licensee, under certain
conditions, to retain his license if he has wine or
liquor in his possession which is not purchased from
a Garrett County liquor dispensary; and clarifying
language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 161 (a-1) of Article 2B - Alcoholic
Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
161.
(a-1) In Garrett County [the county], liquor
dispensaries may be established and maintained in
Grantsville (district No. 3) and in Oakland (district No.
7) [[AT ONE OR MORE LOCATIONS DETERMINED BY THE LIQUOR
CONTROL BOARD]]. The dispensaries are authorized to make
Class A or "off—sales" of wine and liquor. All liquor
and wines sold by Class B and C (on-sale) beer, wine and
liquor licensees [must] MAY be purchased from a Garrett
County liquor dispensary [, and each bottle must be
stamped or otherwise designated "on sale only" by a
Garrett County liquor dispensary] OR ANY LICENSED
WHOLESALE SUPPLIER. Any licensee having wine or liquor
in his possession on the licensed premises which is not
purchased from [and stamped or otherwise designated "on
sale only" by] a Garrett County liquor dispensary shall
suffer a revocation of his license for the sale of beer,
wine and liquor UNLESS THE LICENSEE REPORTS THESE
PURCHASES, AND PAYS TO THE LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD THAT SUM
