AN ACT concerning

Aviation — Insurance on Aircraft

FOR the purpose of requiring every aircraft registered
with the State Aviation Administration to have a
policy of liability insurance, covering certain
claims, in force on the aircraft.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 1A - Aviation

Section 3-305 (a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-305 (a) of Article 1A - Aviation,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 1A — Aviation

3-305.

(a) [No person shall rent or lease any aircraft to
a renter-pilot] A PERSON MAY NOT REGISTER ANY AIRCRAFT
WITH THE ADMINISTRATION unless there is a policy of
insurance in force or the aircraft covering claims by
passengers or other persons for injuries to them or
damage to their property arising out of the operation of
the aircraft (commonly called "liability" insurance),

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect [[July 1, 1976]] January 1, 1977.
