SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not take effect until a similar Act is passed by the
State of West Virginia; that the State of West Virginia
is requested to concur in this Act of the General
Assembly of Maryland by the passage of a similar Act; and
that thereupon the Governor of the State of Maryland
shall issue a proclamation declaring this Act valid and
effective.

AN ACT concerning
Allegany County Transit Authority — State
Retirement System
FOR the purpose of including the Allegany County Transit
Authority within the State retirement system.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 73B — Pensions
Section 21(1)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 21(1) of Article 73B - Pensions,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 73B — Pensions
21.
The following words and phrases as used in this
subtitle, unless a different meaning is plainly required
by the context, shall have the following meaning:
(1) "Municipal corporation" means county,
incorporated town or municipality or special taxing area
or other political subdivision of the State, including
any public library association or organization and any
fire department receiving part or all of its funds from
or through any such county, town, municipality, special
taxing area or other political subdivision of the State,
and also including any board or commission created by an
