Ch. 251

MOLESTED OR MAY HOLD THE CONVICTED PERSON LIABLE TO THE
OWNER OF THE REAL OR PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE COST OF
REPLACING OR RESTORING THE PROPERTY.        [[IN ALL CASES

WHERE THE COST OF REPLACING DESTROYED PROPERTY OR
RESTORING INJURED, DEFACED, OR MOLESTED PROPERTY IS $500
OR LESS, JURISDICTION IS IN THE DISTRICT COURT.]]

(B)         ANY PERSON WHO SHALL DESTROY, INJURE, DEFACE,

OR MOLEST WILFULLY AND WITH MALICE ANY REAL OR PERSONAL
PROPERTY OF ANOTHER WHERE THE COST OF REPLACING OR
RESTORING SUCH PROPERTY DESTROYED, INJURED, DEFACED OR
MOLESTED IS LESS THAN [[$500]] $2,500 IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR.         UPON CONVICTION, THE PERSON IS SUBJECT TO

IMPRISONMENT FOR A PERIOD OF NOT MORE THAN 18 MONTHS OR
10 A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN $1,000 OR TO BOTH FINE AND
IMPRISONMENT. IN ADDITION, THE TRIAL COURT MAY ORDER THE
CONVICTED PERSON TO REPLACE OR TO RESTORE TO ITS ORIGINAL
CONDITION THE PROPERTY DESTROYED, INJURED, DEFACED, OR
MOLESTED OR MAY ORDER THE CONVICTED PERSON LIABLE TO THE
OWNER OF THE REAL OR PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE COST OF
REPLACING OR RESTORING THE PROPERTY.]]

SECTION [[3]] 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That

this Act shall take effect July 1, 1976.

(Senate Bill 82)

AN ACT concerning

Banks and Fiduciary Institutions — Confidentiality

of Records

FOR the purpose of creating a new subtitle; making a
declaration of legislative findings; defining
certain terms; prohibiting a fiduciary institution
from disclosing certain information concerning the
financial records of a customer and making certain
exceptions; and providing certain penalties for

fiduciary institutions and consumer reporting

agencies violating provisions of this Act.

BY adding to

Article 11 - Banks and Trust Companies

Section 224 through 227, inclusive,

to be under the new subtitle "Confidential

Financial Records"

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)
