AN ACT concerning

Dorchester County — Medical Expenses

FOR the purpose of limiting in Dorchester County the
liability of the Sheriff or the County Commissioners
concerning medical expenses of prisoners; and
generally relating to liability for medical expenses
for prisoners in Dorchester County.

BY adding to

The Public Local Laws of Dorchester County
Section 20-6

Article 10 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1974 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 20-6 be and it is hereby added
to the Public Local Laws of Dorchester County being
Article 10 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1974
Edition, as amended) to read as follows:

Article 10

20-6.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, OR THE SHERIFF OF DORCHESTER
COUNTY, OR ANY OFFICIAL OF DORCHESTER COUNTY IS NOT
LIABLE FOR ANY MEDICAL SERVICES RENDERED TO ANY PRISONER
IN THE CUSTODY OF THE SHERIFF IN EXCESS OF THE SUM OF
$1,000 PER PRISONER IN ANY ONE FISCAL YEAR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.
